About Ethica Christian Institute

Ethica Christian Institute is a Swiss non-profit organization (Verein) based in Geneva, dedicated to providing executives and leaders with serious formation in the Christian contemplative tradition, not as religious instruction, but as a time-tested methodology for discernment, ethical judgment, and sustainable leadership.

Geneva has long served as a center for international diplomacy and dialogue.

As a Swiss non-profit, we continue this tradition by providing contemplative formation for leaders operating at the highest levels of global responsibility, including diplomats, C-suite executives, public servants, and healthcare leaders from diverse international contexts.

We believe that the most pressing leadership challenges, navigating complexity across cultures, making ethical decisions under pressure, and managing attention in distraction-rich environments, require more than management techniques. They require wisdom, self-knowledge, and the capacity for silence.

The Christian contemplative tradition, from Desert Fathers to Ignatian spirituality, from Benedictine wisdom to contemporary mindfulness, offers leaders exactly these tools.

This 12-week certificate program provides structured formation specifically designed for executives operating in complex, high-stakes international environments.

Our Approach

Our approach is non-proselytizing and professionally focused. While we draw deeply from Christian contemplative sources, such as Ignatian spirituality, the Desert Fathers, and Benedictine wisdom, we teach these as leadership methodologies applicable across diverse cultural and organizational contexts.

The focus is on developing professional capacities: discernment under pressure, attention management, strategic patience, and ethical decision-making grounded in self-knowledge.

We welcome leaders of all faith backgrounds and philosophical perspectives. What matters is openness to engaging these time-tested practices seriously, not religious belief or conversion.

  • Ignatian Spirituality: The Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola, particularly the examen and discernment of spirits

  • Desert Fathers & Mothers: Early Christian contemplative wisdom on silence, attention, and inner transformation

  • Monastic Traditions: Benedictine practices, Lectio Divina, and rhythms of contemplative life

  • Stoic Philosophy and Contemporary Integration: Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Seneca on attention management, plus insights from neuroscience
